| Below you will find a description of the Bias Family, the family that will be moving into the Student sponsored house in April. If you would like to be a part of the building process, the best way to meet our families visit our opportunities page to volunteer. We have had a long hard struggle in life. I have always said that to own a home is my dream so that my children and I would always have a secure place to go, filled with love and togetherness. Without Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, this would not be a reality. It would be a dream that was so far away -- lost among the bills, babies, daycares, house work and trying to find a way to survive from one day to the next. Then an angel came in the form of a school teacher who had faith in me even when mine was running low. She sent home a newspaper article with my son that said a place called Habitat for Humanity was looking for a few good families to make their dreams come true. I can not thank her enough! Out of all the mothers that she deals with each day that my family stuck out in her mind as one that dreamed of owning a home is amazing. When you are a single mother of five of the most beautiful children you could ever hope for, and we are trying to find our way, and God says do not fear my child for I am with you. But the things around you are falling to pieces, it’s hard. My children are angels sent to me from heaven; they said momma hang on, God has got us. He knows what he is doing. So we prayed and held on to each other while standing still and waiting on the Lord to do his marvelous works, and he sent us you in the form of volunteers. Volunteers who have the hearts of angels, and the gentle hands of servants of God’s work to give and expect nothing in return. And for that The Bias family thanks you. The world thanks you from the bottom of their hearts May God give all of you the desires of your hearts, and fill your cups until they runneth over. |
